Uzbekistan National Film Commission

Uzbekistan National Film Commission is a non-governmental non-profit organisation established in the summer of 2018 on the basis of a Presidential Decree on the development of the national film industry. It worked to assist foreign production companies in filming in Uzbekistan and to promote Uzbek cinema abroad. Every year the Commission held the “PROlogue” International Film Festival in Tashkent, presented Uzbekistan at international film markets in cities such as Berlin, Hong Kong and Los Angeles, and organised the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan at the Cannes Film Festival. According to Muhlisa Azizova, one of the founders of Uzbekistan's Club, it was during these trips that she met many Uzbekistanis living abroad, and these encounters later laid the foundation for the idea of Uzbekistan's Club.
